Carla Sarett is a writer and editor based in San Francisco. She published the poetry collection She Has Visions: Poems (Main Street Rag Press) in 2022. Her three poetry chapbooks include: Any Excuse for a Party (Bainbridge Island Press, 2025), My Family Was Like a Russian Novel (Plan B Press, 2023) and Woman on the Run (Alien Buddha, 2023.). She is also the author of the novel, A Closet Feminist (Unsolicited Press, 2022.) She earned a PhD from University of Pennsylvania and serves as Contributing Editor for New Verse Review, where she reviews contemporary poetry collections.
Her poems have been published in Blue Unicorn, Stonecoast Review, Potomac Review, Naugatucket River Review, Moon Park Review, Pithead Chapel, Overheard, Rock Paper Poem, ONE ART, Quartet Journal and elsewhere. Her work has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize, Sundress Anthology Best of the Net, Best Microfictions and Best American Essays; and shortlisted by Poetry International, Wolfson, and Ohio University. In her new home of San Francisco, she is a dedicated supporter of local opera and ballet.
